The countdown of its historical past begins from 1930, when in accordance with the decision of the Government of Ukraine, the pediatric and sanitary faculties of the Kharkiv Medical Institute were opened. During the years of its existence, outstanding scientists worked at the faculty: prof. І.В. Troitskiy, prof. J.V. Arkavin, prof. M.N. Frishman, Corresponding Member of the USSR Academy of Medical Sciences prof. V.A. Belousov, prof. G.I. Tets, academician of the Academy of Sciences of the Higher School of Ukraine V. S. Prikhodko, prof. Kozhemyaka A.Ya. etc. Today the faculty is one of the leading among the faculties of medical universities of Ukraine in the training of pediatricians and nurses. During its existence, the faculty has trained about 10 thousand doctors of these specialties. The annual licensed enrollment for the faculty is 90 students, 50 bachelors and 30 masters of nursing (there is a budgetary and extrabudgetary form of training). More than 100 teachers, 6 academicians of academies of sciences, honored workers of higher school and figures of science and technology of Ukraine, 18 doctors, professors, 72 candidates of sciences, associate professors work at the departments of the faculty. Training of future pediatricians and nurses is conducted at specialized departments under the guidance of experienced teachers - doctors and candidates of medical sciences. Teaching is conducted in accordance with modern requirements of higher education. The main purpose of the faculty is to train highly qualified specialists for Ukraine and Russia, who know their business well, have a high fundamental and professional training. Graduates of the faculty receive a state doctor's degree in "pediatrics" and "nursing". At all departments of the faculty is a large and fruitful scientific work, there is an opportunity to study for a master's degree, residency and graduate school. Employees of clinical departments of the faculty provide highly qualified medical and advisory care to residents of Kharkiv and Kharkiv region, patients from other regions and regions of Ukraine, as well as citizens of other countries. The faculty has all the conditions for study, living and recreation of students. Faculty members strive to ensure that each graduate fully mastered the professional skills and mastered the latest methods of disease diagnosis and treatment of patients.
All graduates of the faculty after graduation are employed in the specialty, which serves not only as a confirmation of the high rating of KhNMU, but also the high qualification of the teaching staff of the faculty and serious, purposeful work of its students The faculty consists of the following departments: propaedeutics of pediatrics №1 children's infectious diseases propaedeutics of internal medicine №2 and nursing radiology and radiation medicine |
