Educational and Scientific Institute of Quality for Education (ESI QE) was created on September 1, 2016, on the basis of the decision of the Academic Council of the KhNMU. It unites the subdivisions and departments of the university which are responsible for the activity and development of the teaching, educative-methodological, socio-psychological, scientific-intellectual, informational and technological directions of the university\'s work and is subordinated to the rector and the first vice-rector of scientific and pedagogical work. The Educational and Scientific Institute of Quality of Education of the KhNMU includes: \r\n
\r\n In 2018, the university passed an independent external audit. The Ukrainian certification body for quality management systems “Rosuksert” conducted this audit, which confirmed that the quality management system of Kharkiv National Medical University meets the requirements of the state standard ISO 9001: 2015. As a result, the university received a certificate of compliance of the quality management system with the requirements of DSTU ISO 9001: 2015 (ISO 9001: 2015, IDT). \r\nCertificate of conformity of the quality management system guarantees a high level of research and teaching staff, effective methods of providing educational services in the field of health and modern learning conditions for students associated with higher education at the level of qualification requirements for junior specialist, bachelor, specialist, master\'s degree, including for foreign citizens. \r\n

The purpose of TLMEQMS activity
The Training Laboratory for Monitoring and Education Quality Management Systems was founded to centralize and implement new technologies and methods for monitoring the education quality at Kharkiv National Medical University.
\r\nThe main tasks of the Training Laboratory for Monitoring:
Development and organization of the implementation of scientific and methodological principles for monitoring of the quality of higher medical education, teaming up with the educational and methodological department, and methodological office.
Organizing and performing systematic monitoring of the KhNMU students’ education quality and developing, on this basis, recommendations for improving all components of the educational process.
Development and implementation of measures for the organization of a multilevel, ongoing system of training for the Licensed integrated exam, analysing of the actual system of training students and interns for the Licensed integrated exam “Krok 1; 2; 3”.
Organization and providing of the Rector\'s testing the vitality of the gained knowledge. Analysis of the results of the Rector\'s measurements of the knowledge vitality to make analytical and statistical conclusions on improving the levels of organization and control of the testing quality.
Verification of annual reports on academic work of departments and structural units of the University.
\r\nTLMEQMS Accreditation and Licensing Group
The main tasks of the Group are to control the timeliness of entering and updating information on the types and results of professional activities, performed by research and teaching staff, in the Uniform State Electronic Database on Education (USEDE).
Assistance in preparing documents for licensing and accreditation of new learning branches and specialties by dean’s offices of faculties, heads of departments, and guarantors of educational programs.
Participation in the implementation of measures to improve the quality of educational programs and standards, parameters regulating the quality of education.
Group for Information Support of the Educational Process
The main tasks of the Group are to provide technical protection of information, operational documentation; protection against unauthorized access to information and regulatory documents of the University; control of relevance of the information about applicants for higher education which has been entered into the USEDE.
\r\nAcademic integrity
To promote and adhere to the academic integrity and ethics of the academic relationship, TLMEQMS checks for the presence of textual borrowings the following works: qualification works for a bachelor\'s and a master\'s degrees; educational learning material prepared by teachers of the University departments (manuals, study guides, recommendations, instructive guidelines, and other documents) and electronic distance learning courses.
\r\nAutomatic Control System (ACS) Group
The main tasks of the ACS Group are the following: to support the management process based on the use of operating systems, databases, software applications packages for the reliable operation of the University units; to introduce new technologies for information processing; to provide an objective representation of the educational process and the ability to manage it.

MD activities are guided by the Constitution, Laws of Ukraine \"On higher education\"; \"On education\"; \"On ensuring the functioning of the Ukrainian language as the state language\"; as well as the Statute of the University, orders of the Rector, decisions of the Academic Board and the Regulations on Methodology department of KhNMU ERIEQ . MD was established to centralize the management of educational and methodological activities of the University departments, its planning and organization. MD develops tools for higher education obtaining, which determines a person\'s ability to successfully carry out professional and further educational activities. It is responsible for increase of efficiency of educational process and its methodical maintenance, coordination of reporting on the questions of educational and methodical work of the University department, faculties, Central and professional methodical commissions. MD examines the methodological maintenance of the educational process, studies and disseminates the experience gained by the departments and the latest developments in the organization of student learning.
\r\nMD structure
1. MD is a part of KhNMU ERIEQ.
2. MD is headed by the head, who is a research and education worker and is appointed and dismissed in the manner prescribed by applicable law. A person who has a complete higher medical education with experience of work in higher educational institutions of levels 3-4 of accreditation for at least 5 years, can be appointed to the position.
\r\n3. The MD staff includes methodologists of the first category of higher pedagogical education.
4. MD includes MD Council. The Council personnel are approved by the order of the rector of the University. MD Head is a member of the Council.
MD functions and tasks
1. Main MD functions include:
• formation of the annual plan of methodical work;
\r\n• determining main directions of methodical work;
\r\n• unification of the approach to solving educational and methodological issues at the university, taking into account the achievements of higher education;
\r\n• conducting the necessary consultations to clarify the orders and directives related to methodological work;
\r\n• organization of collection of materials on the positive experience of methodical work at the University;
\r\n• organization and holding annual research methodical conferences;
\r\n• exchange of experience of methodical work with other institutions of higher education;
\r\n• preparation of orders, instructions, guidelines, etc.;
\r\n• control over the office work of the University departments;
\r\n• control over the records of the Central and professional commissions of the University;
\r\n• MD record keeping;
\r\n• reporting on methodological work of the University.

\r\n3) Methodical guidelines for teachers;

\r\n5) Methodical guidelines for independent work of the students;
\r\n6) Methodical materials for providing lectures;
\r\n7) Banks of control tasks: control questions, test tasks, tasks for role games, etc .;
\r\n8) General plan of the department work for an academic year (educational-methodical, research, organizational and educational work);
\r\n9) Plan the department meetings for the autumn and spring semesters;
\r\n10) Schedule of control and mutual visits of teachers of the department for autumn and spring semesters;
\r\n11) The list of seminars of intra-departmental forms of advanced training of teachers for autumn and spring semesters;
\r\n12) Thematic plans of lectures, practical classes and independent work for the autumn and spring semesters.
\r\nPerforming other functions in accordance with the instructions of the rector of the University, pro-rectors and the director of ERIEQ.
\r\n2. MD main tasks include
\r\nPlanning and organization of methodological support of the educational process at the University departments;
\r\nWork on investigation, generalization and dissemination of advanced pedagogical experience;
\r\nIntroduction into the educational process of modern educational technologies, innovative methods, means of activating the cognitive activity of the students;
\r\nPromotion of comprehensive methodological support of academic disciplines and major fields;
\r\nTeaching advanced pedagogical methods;
\r\nOrganization of a permanent exhibition of educational and methodical literature on topical issues of the educational process.
\r\nControl of efficiency and quality of educational and methodical work at the departments of the University;
\r\nImplementation of methodological and organizational support for preparation of syllabuses and complex control tasks, test computer training and control programs for independent work of the students;
\r\nPromoting the ability the educational process participants to meet the requirements of the Standard of Higher Education of Ukraine and the achievements stated in the program of learning outcomes.
\r\nParticipation in preparation of drafts of orders and action plans for educational and methodological work;
\r\nParticipation in development of long-term plans for development of educational and methodological process, the university\'s proposals for development of means to ensure the quality of education;
\r\nAnalysis of work and summarizing the work on educational and methodological support of education at faculties and departments and introduction of innovative developments and technologies in the educational process;
\r\nCoordination of activity of structural educational divisions and educational and methodical working bodies: dean\'s offices of faculties, departments concerning the maintenance and organization of educational and methodical work;
\r\nMD consists of MD Council KhNMU ERIEQ. MD Council coordinates methodical support of the educational process, examines methodical publications of the University departments on compliance with the curricula and syllabuses, taking into account the qualification requirements of the State Standard of Higher Medical Education of Ukraine, according to European Credit Transfer System.

Courses organization:
\r\nTraining groups consist of teachers of departments of KhNMU. The audience\'s teaching work experience is up to 5 years.The formation of groups is based on the selection of candidates for training, carried out by heads of departments and individual orders of teachers of KhNMU.
\r\nThe courses are open, so every teacher of KhNMU has the opportunity to attend seminars they prefer the most.
\r\nForm of trainings:
\r\nThe educational process is based on a full-time education without interrupting the teachers from their work.

Objective and qualitative analysis of the course is carried out by the sociological group of KhNMU through interviews, questionnaires and focus groups. The results of the study are used as a basis for improving the work of the courses, the updated topics of seminars.

Educational process organization
\r\nClasses at the “Young teacher\'s school” are planned by the Educational-research Institute of education quality and implemented faculty and staff of KhNMU, involving invited professionals and teachers with years of teaching experience and creative work. The course facilitator is a practical psychologist of KhNMU.
\r\nThe material and technical base of KhNMU is used in the course.
\r\nAfter working out the training programmes, audience receives a certificate of participant of the improvement course of psychological and pedagogical qualification “Young teacher\'s school” of the established sample.

“School of an experienced lecturer”
Within the intra-university framework of the advanced teacher training system at the Educational and Scientific Institute of quality of education of KHNMU, an \"experienced lecturer\'s School\" is held annually.
Experienced lecturers with at least five years of teaching experience are invited to the course. The course is aimed at improving and maintaining teaching skills, transferring your own experience and useful skills, implementing the latest technologies into the educational process, and discussing controversial topics.
Reputable colleagues and teachers who have foreign internships and actively implement interactive methods are invited as lecturers.

\r\n\r\nAlisa Stryukova – head of practical training of ESI QE KhNMU Department of practical training of ESI QE KhNMU is a structural subdivision; it is a part of KhNMU Educational and Scientific Institute of Quality of Education and it subordinates the Director of ESI QE, the Vice-Rector of Research and Education and the Rector of the university. Department of practical training was organized in order to control the undergoing practical training by students of KhNMU . Practical training is an integral part of the educational process aimed to improve knowledge and practical skills obtained in main clinical and theoretical disciplines and their further perfection during the work at medical establishments. Students undergo practical training during academic year in accordance with educational programs and a schedule of classes. Department of practical training carries out the preparatory work from organizational, educational and methodological support for students’ practical training, enters into agreements with the Department of Health and the headmasters of municipal non-profit medical establishments, research institutes, charitable foundations for the practical training of students, controls the working out of practical training programs, assigns the supervisors and students to the bases of practical training, allots the number of students for particular bases of practical training, monitors the bases of practice, implements all organizing activities before the start of practical training: briefings on the procedure for practical training, providing students and supervisors with the necessary documentation ,inspects practice and the quality of learning practical skills. When the practical training is finished, the department of practical training accepts reporting documentation from teachers and students, summarizes marks, displays total scores for practical training, fills in the registers of exam in accordance with all acting educational plans. In order to ensure the current state of practical training of students to practice practical skills, typical skills and manipulation techniques in accordance with the current end-to-end training programs, curricula and requirements of educational and qualification characteristics of students of Kharkiv National Medical University in 2015, simulation classes were created. a method of training with a wide range of simulators to practice practical skills with a high level of realism. Computer and virtual modeling of various clinical situations is a new direction in the modern school of training highly qualified medical staff of senior and middle management.
The purpose of this area is to create organizational and educational conditions for improving the quality of training, retraining and advanced training of doctors, as well as the development of professional competence of health care professionals in Ukraine.
Advantages of simulation training:
- Clinical experience in a virtual environment without risk to the patient;
\r\n- Objective assessment of the achieved level of skill;
\r\n- Unlimited number of repetitions to practice skills;
\r\n- Practice of actions at rare and life-threatening pathologies;
\r\n- Part of the functions of the teacher takes over the virtual simulator;
\r\n- Reduced stress during the first independent manipulations;
\r\n- Development of both individual skills and abilities, and the ability of team interaction.

Types of simulation training on the basis of interdepartmental stimulation classes of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Education Quality of KhNMU
1. Individual trainings on mannequins (namely, conducting practical classes where students under the guidance of a teacher independently develop skills.)
\r\n2. Modeling of situational tasks (namely, multi-level situations when a student develops practical skills according to standard schemes for providing medical care)
\r\n3. Team development of skills in clinical situations (in this case, students learn coordinated teamwork)
\r\n4. Distance learning
\r\n5. Training through the demonstration of educational films created on the same mannequins with different complex pathologies.
\r\n6. Interactive learning
\r\n7. Integration into the lecture process.
\r\n8. Interdepartmental integration (namely the simultaneous work of two or more departments on one mannequin in the form of work in a virtual operating room such as the Department of Anesthesiology and the Department of Surgery).
Already today on the basis of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Education Quality of KhNMU there are interdepartmental stimulation classes in the field of \"Emergency Medicine\", \"Therapy\", \"Obstetrics and Gynecology\", \"Surgery\", \"Pediatrics\", which are equipped with new state-of-the-art simulators. and phantoms to ensure the quality of the educational process and the rector\'s control of the level of practical skills and techniques for providing emergency medical care to 5th year students and the first part of the practice-oriented exam (PODI) for graduate students.
