DIRECTIONS
OF SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH
The
main direction of the Department's scientific activity is the study of
predictors of progression and secondary prevention of chronic kidney disease,
the role of cytokines, disorders of calcium and lipid metabolism,
homocysteinuria, arterial hypertension, proteinuria, tubular dysfunctions,
endothelium factors. Methods for correcting disorders of homeostasis were
processed. The role of the kidneys in violations of the acid-base balance in
bronchial asthma and COPD, as well as methods of their correction, are being
studied. Recently, the problems of diagnosis and treatment of secondary
nephropathies, in particular diabetic, have been studied. Screening studies
are being conducted on the prevalence of secondary kidney damage in diseases
of internal organs (cardiovascular diseases, gastric ulcer and duodenal
ulcer, endocrine diseases, etc.).
The
Department is intensively training scientific and pedagogical personnel:
while scientific research is carried out by 1 postgraduate student, 1
doctoral student and a doctor-resident.
CLINICAL
CARE
In
the allergy unit, modern medical technologies are being introduced into the
diagnostic and treatment process. Peak flowmetry and computer spirography are
used to monitor the course of bronchial asthma, allergological tests with
food, dusty, pollen, household allergens, skin biopsy in patients with
vasculitis. In the treatment, modern stepwise approaches are used according
to the recommendations of international consensus, topical corticosteroids
are used - inhalation, intranasal, ophthalmic, skin; highly selective partial
β2-agonists, antihistamines of II-III generations, prolonged calcium
antagonists of the III generation, MRI, plasmapheresis, hyposensitization.
Started screening studies of bronchial asthma in the regions of the Kharkiv
region. It is planned to participate in an international project on the
studied concentration of plant dust in the atmosphere of the Kharkiv region.
