Academic work

Academic work in our department consists of teaching Russian-medium students of the 5th year of faculties of medicine in specialties "Medicine", "Pediatrics" and "Prophylactic medicine" on the subject "Traumatology and Orthopaedics", English-medium students of the 5th year of the faculties of medicine  on the subject "Traumatology and orthopedics" . To prepare for the licensing exam test "KROK-2" systematically test conducted training students 6-year undergraduate. For better learning of workshops to further succeed in solving situational problems created bank basic and additional tests on all sections of traumatology and orthopedics. Created and implemented a pedagogical process necessary guidelines.

Research work

Since 2004 2 theses have been defended. 5 declarative patents and 10 patents for utility model have been received.


Constantly preparing a master and PhD.


There are few research areas in our department:

- Osteosynthesis in fractures of the long bones,

- Low-invasive osteosynthesis techniques,

- Methods of stimulation osteosynthesis in elderly patients,

- Treatment of fractures of the proximal femur in elderly patients,

- Operative treatment of degenerative disc disorders and tuberculosis of the spine,

- Diagnostic and treatment methods in case of lumbar-pelvic ligamentopathy.


The department collaborates with research institutions of Ukraine, participating in scientific congresses, symposia, conducts clinical testing methods of treatment.


Clinical work

Treatment and diagnostic work is done in 2 basic clinical departments (annually advise employees of the Department and treated nearly 4,000 patients with a variety of injuries, musculoskeletal system). Conducted weekly rounds of professor and associate professor, clinical conferences, Pathological Conference.

Actually clinical work is to provide round the clock assistance to victims of emergent conditions and planned orthopedic pathology within the scientific topics of the department, and as a result of specific tuberculous lesions of the musculoskeletal system.
